Program Description

BSc Computer Systems & Networking (Hons)

This programme has been created in response to industry demand for graduates with the knowledge and technical skills to design, create, operate and maintain network infrastructures for modern distributed computer systems. You will work with the latest tools and technologies to develop a sound theoretical understanding and gain confidence through practical experience. Assisted in developing personal and professional skills you are enabled to communicate effectively and make a positive contribution in the workplace across a variety of roles and a wide range of organisations.

Students can take industrial examinations such as Cisco, Microsoft and Oracle Java certifications and develop valuable personal and professional skills. All students are automatically enrolled as student members of the British Computer Society the chartered bodies responsible for establishing and maintaining technical and ethical standards in the profession.


The aims of the programme are:

  • To provide students with practical experience in using current generation tools and techniques
  • To familiarise students with the issues and concerns involved in network implementation and management
  • To equip students with the skills to deal with the demands of distributed enterprise application development.
