BSc (Hons) International Business Management
The BSc International Business is aimed at students who have an interest in developing knowledge and understanding of the key aspects of business and management, and in particular, who are looking to pursue a career internationally in business management.
The first year covers the foundation elements of business management. Year 2 is spent working internationally at one of GUS's organisations in Dublin Singapore, Toronto, Vancouver or Berlin. Years 3 covers a management discipline, which you found specifically interesting during your work experience in more depth and in particular further develops your employability skills. The programme provides the intellectual underpinnings required for a career in a rapidly changing work environment, a rigorous approach to self-awareness and personal development and significant exposure to the world of work and its current demands through work experience opportunities.
The emphasis in the course design has been to provide this strong business degree with a focus on employability. The course offers an excellent grounding in knowledge of the key aspects of business management that are covered by a range of modules from the Management subject area. In turn, the degree seeks to inculcate in students many of the skills and competencies in research, presentation, critical analysis, problem-solving, team building and entrepreneurship, which all together should be helpful for future employment opportunities.
After graduating, students will have a variety of career options available to them within international business management. As a result of international work experience, they’ll be able to demonstrate both their knowledge and experience. Students may also consider furthering their studies with one of the following postgraduate options: Masters of Business Administration (MBA), MSc in Strategic Business Management or Chartered Management Institute’s postgraduate qualifications.
