Introduction
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's transnational geographies bachelor's degree is intended for those who are interested in cultural difference, social justice, ethnographic field research, working abroad, or for those who desire strong preparation for graduate programs in human/cultural geography or anthropology. The curriculum within the major is interdisciplinary and all-encompassing. Throughout the program, you'll learn the tools, techniques, practices, and core fundamentals of various geographical areas, including basic geography, transnational geography, physical geography, human geography, human-environmental geography, and regional geography. Dozens of electives within those areas allow you to pursue multiple passions and study the most interesting topics.
Coursework incorporates cultures and environments from across the globe. You'll learn from the expert, dedicated professors who regularly travel to different countries to bring their international perspectives right to you. You'll also have plenty of opportunities to join them by studying abroad, participating in a faculty-led field study, or enrolling in a cultural immersion program. One of the few programs of its kind, our transnational geographies degree illustrates how geography impacts nations worldwide and transforms you into a truly global citizen.
