Northeastern offers both a B.A. in Music and a B.M. in Music.
The Bachelor of Arts is designed for students who wish to study music in the context of a comprehensive liberal arts experience, immersing themselves in both the practice and theory. The program's flexibility allows students to pursue specific music topics to augment their interests, as well as broaden their post-graduate career paths.
Students in the Bachelor of Music program choose an emphasis:
- Vocal performance
- Instrumental performance
- K-12 music education: vocal
- K-12 music education: instrumental
Programs accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. Accreditation symbolizes “a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the work of individual institutions and the work of the entire community of institutions that prepare musicians at the collegiate level.”
The Music programs prepare you for careers in areas such as:
