Many individuals choose to pursue a bachelor’s degree after high school graduation. While not all jobs require an advanced degree, a Bachelor of Arts can often give someone a wider range of job opportunities. This can help give them a competitive edge when entering the work force or seeking a new career.

What is a BA in Shoe Design? This major allows students to study the craft of fashion shoemaking. Students learn from industry professionals about how to make and market footwear. They learn business skills, communication and hands-on design techniques. These techniques can include pattern cutting and prototyping skills. Some programs also offer on-the-job training as part of a student’s coursework. This helps equip the student for success upon graduation, as he or she will have made lasting connections with industry professionals.

Those who pursue a shoe design degree learn valuable skills such as innovation and creativity. They learn how to see a project through to completion and become skilled in a useful trade. Trade programs often enable students to study in a smaller setting, which subsequently gives them more contact with their professors than do some other programs.

Prospective students should contact the financial aid department of a school they are interested in, in order to get the most thorough information on pricing. Often there are scholarships and financial programs available for reducing the cost.

Most graduates of this program go on to become shoe designers due to its highly specialized nature. Upon graduation, many work as assistant designers alongside industry professionals. They can then often work their way up to become principal designers with continued experience. Some graduates remain in the shoe industry but pursue such avenues as marketing or buying.

Bachelor’s degrees in shoe design are offered internationally as well as locally. Some shoe design programs allow students to attend part-time in order to fit their busy lifestyles. For further information, search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.
