The Bachelor of Recording Arts is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the audio and music industries, incorporating the development of creative skills and research methods necessary in today’s highly competitive industry environment. Apart from furthering the development of music production skills relevant to commercial and non-commercial music markets, this stage also develops the understanding of relevant aspects of business management and legal matters as well as communication and research skills. You will meet high profile industry professionals up close in small workshops and seminars who can give you an insight into their perspectives, and share their knowledge and experience. This degree is research based, opening the way to the highest levels of academic education (master's and PhD). SAE has a number of pathways into several programmes of study in New Zealand and overseas. The Diploma in Audio Engineering forms year one of this three-year programme. It is a very practical, hands-on experience right from the start, and involves workplace scenarios where you will learn technical and operative skills, project workflow and management, documentation and communication with clients and other industry professionals.
