The Media Management bachelor's degree prepares you for a challenging and exciting job in the media and creative industries at home and abroad. Whether you decide you want to get started in the music, film, or games industry, maybe even the book, art, or advertising market, the Media Management B.A. will provide you with the necessary tools to work effectively in those fields.
In the Innovation Management specialization, you will deal with, among other things:
- Technologies such as blockchain, 5G, and the Internet of Things as potential game-changers
- AI as an innovation driver
- The Innovator’s dilemma
In this specialization, there is close cooperation with one of the leading innovation agencies in Germany.
In the specialization of Games Management, you will deal with, among other things:
- The interactive storytelling
- The creative challenges in game development
- Financing models and production processes in the games industry
In this specialization, you will work closely with the students from our Game Design course and companies from the games industry.
So close to the real-life – studying theories and business models that you will apply in authentic scenarios
Theory and practice will go ahead hand in hand symbiotically within our Media Management (B.A.). With our partner ICON, we have developed specific program modules that couldn’t be closer to real-life challenges in business management and decision making.
Based on authentic scenarios you’ll learn how to identify those who really drive innovations, how to define relevant target groups, and finally: how to create new products and services.
Thanks to the cooperation with ICON, we can offer:

Our specifications in future proof areas of Innovation and Games
Our program Media Management (B.A.) will offer you a deep insight into two possible specifications: Innovation Management and Games Management.
The specification Innovation Management will cover (inter alia):
- Technologies, such as BlockChain, 5G, and Internet of Things
- AI as one of the most impactful future innovation drivers
- The „Innovator's Dilemma“
This specification will be part of close cooperation with our partner ICON.
The specification Games Management will cover (inter alia):
- Interactive Storytelling
- Creative approaches to inherent challenges when developing games
- Funding and monetarization models in games, as well as production processes in the games industry
With this specification, you will work closely with students in our study program Game Design (B.Sc.) as well as with our partners in the games industry.

Program Outcome
Study Goal
1st semester
In the 1st semester, you will learn the basics of scientific work and management as well as the peculiarities and structures of the creative and media markets. In addition, right at the beginning of your studies, you have the opportunity to get to know digital media technologies such as cameras and editing programs for film production and how to apply them practically in your first project.
2nd semester
The 2nd semester serves to deepen your management skills in the direction of project management and marketing, and you will specialize in your preferred subject, either „Innovation Management" or "Games Management". In this semester project, you will deal with digital business models and have the opportunity to develop brand new ideas of your own.
3rd semester
The third semester offers you a management specialization in the direction of market research, and in the semester project, you get to know the exciting field of trends and future research. Additionally, you will also deepen your knowledge in your previous chosen specialization.
4th semester
In the 4th semester, you will deal with the aspects of psychology relevant to the media industry and the creative uses of social media. This is followed by a semester team-oriented project in which you will develop and produce media content.
5th semester
The 5th semester gives you an insight into the strategic aspects of media management and also establishes the framework to deal with important ethical questions that are linked to work in the media industry. This semester will be focused on a project related to your specialization.
6th semester
The 6th semester is a practical semester involving an industry-related internship. The practical time is documented in the form of a practical report and a presentation. (Good to know: When looking for the right internship, we will actively support you with our career service.)
7th semester
In the 7th semester, the focus will be the research and development of your academic thesis. Besides your dissertation, the final portion of the academic program will be rounded off with a seminar in your specialization and a sustainability seminar for managers.
Upon successful completion, you will receive the title of “Bachelor of Arts” (M.A.), which not only opens up numerous professional perspectives but also qualifies you for a master’s degree.

As a graduate: in the course, you work at the interface between creativity and business and find your professional future
- in national and international media groups that produce or sell creative content such as film, TV, or streaming products,
- in companies that deal with the development, production, and marketing of games (if you choose to study games management),
- in start-up companies that develop new technologies and digital business models (if you choose Innovation Management).
There you are entrusted with the control and design of media production processes, marketing for media products, or the development of new business strategies in the creative and media industries.
As part of your media management degree, you will deepen your knowledge in one of the two specializations innovation management or games management.
