The major explores communication in a variety of contexts ranging from interpersonal communication to mass persuasion and the social influence of media. Students investigate a variety of communication activities with learning experiences, in theory, application of theory, and performance. The major’s two available specialties permit students to develop a program of study in those aspects of communication studies that suit their academic interests and career goals.
What You’ll Learn
Good communication is the key to success in any field. Learn core techniques in our foundational classes. Then, tailor your degree to your professional goals and interests by choosing a concentration in either public and mediated communication or interpersonal and organizational communication.Our communication degree will help you learn how to dissect, analyze, and plan messages. You'll also learn techniques for communicating face-to-face and in a group.
Study the theories and works of great communicators as you explore communication in a variety of contexts, ranging from interpersonal communication to mass persuasion and the social influence of media.
