Cinema and Television
Reflecting the nature of film and television as an academic, artistic and industrial field, cinema and television studies is a discipline that requires individuals who can discern local values while maintaining an international perspective, who can apply artistic practices such as self-expression, and who have also developed the habit of critical thinking.
The philosophy behind our leading İstanbul Şehir University Cinema and Television Department, which includes both theory and practice, thus emphasizes an informed way of seeing. In addition to a strong technological substructure, we follow both educational and technical novelties and continually refresh our vision by balancing the classic and the contemporary. Our educational philosophy is not satisfied by merely meeting the standards and teaching the curriculum to students, rather we aim to attend to the abilities and gifts of each student and have designed student projects and elective courses accordingly.
