The Accounting major provides a choice of three concentrations.
- General Accountancy: This is ideal for students who are interested in corporate or general accounting and want to complete their major easily within four years. Students interested in pursuing a graduate degree may also be interested in the general accounting concentration.
- Accounting and Finance: This concentration provides a great combination of business finance and accounting that will give students a wider understanding of a company's operations from a financial point of view.
- Public Accountancy: The Public Accountancy concentration will guide students through a robust 150 credit program that prepares them to take the Certified Public Accountant exam. Concordia students have the second highest pass rate for the CPA exam among all Minnesota colleges and universities (64.4 percent with an average score of 76).
Concordia's accounting students have also created a student organization called the CPA Club for accounting majors to get together and host events on campuses such as outside presenters, workshops, and career opportunities.
