Program Description

BA Sports Business Management

It is anticipated that the 2012 Olympic Games and the Olympic legacy will further mobilise the UK’s enthusiasm for sports, and have the potential to significantly increase participation at all levels and the medal success of our elite athletes. The aim of these programmes is to embrace this enthusiasm and produce effective and efficient sports managers to work as operational managers within the sports industry.


Studying at Hartpury

Students will undertake a mix of academic and industry-focused learning comprising a core knowledge base of business management. This is complemented by applied competencies in a range of sporting disciplines which meet the needs business professionals within the sports industry.

The BA (Hons) degree aims to provide you with strong academic skills which can be applied to your chosen career or lead you into further academic study. The Foundation degree is a vocationally focused programme which will help you enter the world of work or enable you to progress on to the BA (Hons) programme which will take an additional one year of study.

The varied learning experiences available include lectures, field trips, seminars, workshops and an eight-week work placement opportunity. You will be assessed via written examinations, multiple choice questions, practical assessments, oral examinations, written assignments, and seminar presentations.
