Program Description

In hands-on projects, you will experience the entire workflow from finding ideas for technical implementation. You design apps, animations, posters, books, magazines, brand identities, and more. Our practical approach prepares you to develop your creative personality and become a professional designer.

What you can expect from the Bachelor program in Graphic Design and Visual Communication:

You will learn to analyze, question, and improve given scenarios. Within the framework of your studies, you will do practical exercises such as creating layouts, bookbinding, or drawing and learn about software skills, design thinking, research methods, and creative techniques. In particular, we will deal with the discipline's typography and information design across all media.

A1. Yes, we are accepting applications for the Fall Intake 2020. We continue to receive applications and make offers to students, including international applicants.

If you have not applied yet, but intend to do so, you should apply as planned. Our team can advise you on all aspects of studying at Berlin International.

Q2. Will the Application Deadline change?

A2. Yes, we have extended our Application Deadline until the 30th of September 2020. For international students, we advise submitting the application latest by the 15th of August, so that there is enough time for visa and travel-related formalities.

Q3. How can I apply for a visa if the embassies are closed?

A3. Please contact the German embassy or consulate in your home country to find out about the visa process in the current situation.

Q4. If my visa is delayed, how late can I start and how can I keep up with my coursework?

A4/ BI can guarantee the start of the fall semester 2020, with virtual teaching options for students, who cannot begin their studies on campus on time due to COVID-19 travel restrictions or visa delays. Those students can start their studies online from their home countries and then continue their studies on campus, as soon as they can travel to Germany.

We can guarantee that we will offer a parallel to the on-campus-courses online teaching for the whole first semester. The students who have problems with coming on time due to COVID-19 restrictions will have to arrive in Germany latest at the beginning of the second semester, which is the 1st of April 2021.

Q5. In case a new student does not want to attend online classes, what would be the process?

A5. Students who cannot begin their studies on campus on time in the fall semester 2020 due to COVID-19 travel restrictions or visa delays, can start their courses online from their home countries and continue their studies on campus immediately after they are able to travel to Germany.

If they don’t want to start their courses online, they can also defer the start of their studies free of charge to the next fall intake 2021. New students must start in the fall; a spring start is not possible.

Q6. Will the Fall semester 2020 begin on time?

A6. The Fall Semester 2020 will begin later than originally planned:

  • Welcome Days: New: 28.10.2020 - 30.10. 2020
  • Start of the Teaching Period: New: 2.11.2020
