BA in Tourism Development

With a BA in Tourism Development, you can have a career in Tourism Development, Executive, Tourism Development Policy Planner, Tourism Development Officer.

Admission requirements

  • Minimum APS:
    • 26 with Mathematics OR
    • 28 with Mathematical Literacy
  • English: 4 (50%+)
  • Mathematics: 3 (40%+)
  • Mathematical Literacy: 5 (60%+)

Meeting the Faculty’s minimum requirements for a particular programme does not necessarily guarantee admission to that programme as specific selection criteria may be applied and due to space constraints.

BA Hons in Tourism Development

The purpose of this qualification is to develop the ability of the student to question, analyze and interpret tourism development issues within a global context. This purpose is achieved through the delivery of tuition and a research-based project where the student shows evidence of research and the ability to reflect on tourism development issues.

Admission requirements

Candidates in possession of any relevant Baccalaureus Degree on NQF level 6 with an average of 60% appropriate subject knowledge are considered.

  • BA in Tourism Development: 3 years full-time
  • BA Hons in Tourism Development: 1 year full-time

Registration and Start Dates

Registration starts in January and lectures in February for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate course work programmes.

All research programmes for Masters and PhD can register throughout the year.

End Date: Academic starts in January and ends in December. Programme deadline is determined by the duration of the programme.
