The program assists students in understanding their role and responsibility as architects in any given physical and cultural context, whether that be local or international. Upon completing the program, graduates will be able to apply their understanding of spaces as a whole and use their knowledge of the relationships between built environments, technology, and geographical, social, socio-cultural, and political contexts to solve complex architectural challenges. With a high teaching staff to student ratio that allows for plenty of individual consulting, as well as a carefully-designed curriculum, this program aims to enable students to graduate with a honed perspective and comprehensive plan for their future professional development.

How do I apply for the Interior Design BA study program?
The application process for studying Interior Design at Berlin International is very easy. You can easily and safely share your personal information through our online application platform. After receiving a confirmation email with a link, you can upload a copy of your documents:
Copy of passport or identity card
Copy of High-School diploma with transcript (German Abitur / Fachabitur or equivalent). We also need an official translation of your diploma and transcript into English or German if they are in another language.
Copy of English Language Test
A portfolio with a maximum of 10 works

Q1. Is the Application Process the same?
Yes, we are accepting applications for Fall Intake 2021 for new and transfer students. We continue to receive applications and make offers to students, including international applicants. If you have not yet applied but plan to do so, you should apply as scheduled. Our team can advise you on all aspects of studying at Berlin International.

Q2. What is the Application Deadline?
We accept applications for start into Spring Semester 2021 only for transfers into a higher semester from 14th December 2020 until 15th February 2021.
We accept applications for start into Fall Semester 2021/22 for new and transfer students from 14th December 2020 until 31st August 2021.
Q3. How can I apply for a visa if the embassies are closed?
Please contact the German embassy or consulate in your home country to find out about the visa process in the current situation.
Q4. If my visa is delayed, how late can I start and how can I keep up with my coursework?
We hope to resume regular teaching on campus as soon as possible, starting with the Fall Semester 2021 at the latest.
However, if the pandemic continues, we have the option of offering hybrid teaching, which we have already done successfully in the Fall Semester of 2020. In case, we will offer virtual teaching opportunities for students who are unable to begin their studies on campus on time due to COVID-19 travel restrictions or visa delays. These students can begin their studies online from their home country and then continue their studies on campus once they are able to travel to Germany.
If the pandemic continues, we can guarantee that we will offer online classes in parallel with face-to-face classes for the entire first semester.
Q5. If the COVID-19 pandemic continues, what happens if a new student does not want to take the online courses that would be offered as substitute for on-campus classes?
If the pandemic continues at the start of the Fall Semester 2021, we will offer virtual teaching opportunities for new students who are unable to begin their studies on campus in time due to COVID-19 travel restrictions or visa delays.
However, if new students to not wish to begin their courses online, they may also defer their start date to the next Fall Intake 2022 at no charge. New students must start in the fall; they cannot start in spring.
