General

Program Description

The BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture is an exciting new offering from the Department of Art and Design. This program is designed for students who seek to become innovative interior architecture professionals of the 21st century. Spanning a period of three and a half years, you will engage in various aspects of design for interior environments and develop skills which enable you to contribute to the profession with creativity and confidence. You will also experience an immersive learning environment in the real world during the six-month industrial placement program.

The program of studies takes place in a broad range of learning environments, beginning with a studio experience which will engage the student in the fundamentals of the design process and thinking, as well as allow knowledge and skill development in the practice of designing interactions between people and interior spaces. A balanced mixture of theoretical and practical subjects such as design practice, modeling, drawing, furniture design and sustainable design are coupled with real-world skills such as communication, technology and entrepreneurship, to create a graduate profile that can be articulated beyond interior architecture to other design professions.

Entry Requirement

  • STPM: Average C or CGPA 2.0 (Minimum 2 principals)
  • A Level: Minimum 8 points
  • Australian Matriculation: ATAR 55
  • Canadian Matriculation: 55%
  • MUFY: 55%
  • Sunway Foundation in Arts: CGPA 2.0
  • Sunway Foundation in Science and Technology: CGPA 2.0
  • UEC: Maximum 28 points from 5 subjects (all Grade Bs including Mathematics)
  • IB: Completed with minimum 24 points (excluding bonus points)
  • Specific Requirements: MQA requires local students to possess a MUET or international English proficiency qualification in order to register for the Interior Architecture programme.
