Program Description

Based on Sheffield University Management School’s established Business Management programme, BA International Business Management gives students a solid foundation in business knowledge and skills in first year, before focusing on the global marketplace in years two and three.

Understanding the principles of how businesses function and succeed in an international market is key to this programme, offering students global operational and cultural perspectives on the corporate world.

Combining rigorous academic study with practical skills, our BA International Business Management will give you a comprehensive understanding of core business modules in year one. You’ll study Introduction to Behaviour at Work, Management Themes and Perspectives, and Business Economics. This will be complemented by skills-based modules covering essential accounting and decision-making techniques.

In the second year, students will acquire a keen understanding of global business through the opportunity to study abroad at one of our partner institutions through either the Erasmus or Study Abroad programmes:

All modules at partner institutions are approved by Sheffield University Management School and taught in English.

Entry Requirements

  • A Level: AAB, with a B/6 in Maths at GCSE
  • BTEC: DDD in a relevant subject
  • International Baccalaureate: 33

International students require an overall IELTS grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component or an equivalent English language qualification.

Year 1

  • Management Themes and Perspectives
  • Futures First: Professional Self Management

One of the following:

  • Analysis for Decision Making A (if you've taken A-Level maths)
  • Analysis for Decision Making B (if you haven't taken A-Level maths)

Plus:

  • Business Challenges, or unrestricted module(s) to the value of ten credits

Year 2
Full-time study year abroad - modules are agreed by Sheffield University Management School and the partner institution.

Students are not charged fees by partner institutions and normally pay reduced fees to Sheffield during the period abroad

Year 3
Two of the following:

  • International Business
  • International Marketing
  • Extended Essay in International Business

Four of the following:

  • Work and Society in Japan
  • Critical Perspectives in Work and Organisational Psychology
