With an emphasis on arts practice and critical thinking, this programme will appeal to those with an active, curious interest in areas such as; art and design, multimedia, film studies, screenwriting, music production, media studies, film and television production. If you already make your own videos or music, write screenplays or scripts, have a blog or website and are keen to find out how the media you consume is made, then this programme is relevant to you.
Students will use a full range of digital production equipment in professional video and sound studios and have access to the latest creative editing and production software on both Mac and Windows platforms.
The aims of the programme are:
To enable students to develop practical skills in media production and develop their own specialisms, often working collaboratively. To enable students to gain an understanding of media theory, audiences, arts philosophy, and key socioeconomic issues surrounding media markets. To enable students to reflect critically on their own practice, and have an understanding of the production process in a range of creative industries. To equip students with a full set of graduate attributes and transferable skills that will equip them for a diverse range of workplaces.
