This Top-Up degree provides students with a thorough grounding in the operational processes of the global business environment and coupled with a comprehensive understanding of theory, graduates of this fast track course will meet the high-calibre expectation of today’s employers. Based in the centre of British business, London, the BA (Hons) Business Top-Up is designed by the Newcastle Business School, part of a select group of business schools worldwide, following accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in business and accounting – the first in Europe to gain the double accreditation.
The programme has been developed for students with prior qualifications gained from either a HND in Business, a Foundation Degree, SQA HND or equivalent. To excel in this course, students will need to show enthusiasm and initiative, as well as the ability to develop new ways of thinking as your academic skills are enhanced to meet the standards of business.
The programme is made up of modules designed to enhance your knowledge and understanding of the issues facing business whilst developing your academic skills to ensure you are able to apply your knowledge in a business setting. These modules include investigating the operational functions of a business in Strategic Supply Chain Management, the Contemporary Issues in Business and establishing a deeper theoretical understanding in Culture and Organisations as well developing your employability in Academic and Career Development.
A degree in business can lead to a career in business leadership and management as well as the opportunity to further develop your business knowledge through postgraduate study. Upon graduation you could enter a career in consultancy, marketing, health management, human resource management or operations management, as well as having the skills to set up your own business.
Upon completing this degree with a minimum grade of a 2:2 and should you wish to continue your studies and develop a specialty, you may be eligible to progress on to one of our postgraduate degrees at the London Campus. These programmes include the opportunity for you to specialise in Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, International Management, Financial Management or Marketing Management as part of your Business Masters.
Who would this Course suit
The programme has been designed for students who wish to develop their prior qualifications into a BA Business degree.
- A HND/Foundation Degree or BTEC/HND in a business related subject with average merits/commendations in the final year, or study equivalent to 120 Level 4 and 120 Level 5 CATS points.
- Students require IELTS 6.5 (or above) with no single element below 5.5 or equivalent.
If you have IELTS 5.5 – 6.0, you may be eligible to join our Pre-Sessional English before starting this programme.
