BA (Hons) Business (Fintech) with Law with Foundation Year
The BA Business (FinTech) with Law is aimed at students who have an interest in developing knowledge and understanding of the key aspects of business management, FinTech and law. In particular, the role of new technologies and how they influence the world of commerce and law. Students who are looking to pursue a career in business with a particular interest in working within the commercial transactions or business development areas.
The degree programme is designed so that the Foundation Year provides an underpinning year, incorporating both academic and work/professional related learning, for applicants needing to improve their knowledge and understanding of business and its related skills. The year provides students with knowledge and understanding of the key aspects of business management along with the necessary skills needed to participate in the undergraduate business programmes at levels 4, 5 and 6.
The first year covers the foundation elements of business. Years 2 and 3 cover the areas of FinTech and Law in more depth and in particular, develops your employability skills. The programme provides the intellectual underpinnings required for a career in a rapidly changing work environment, a rigorous approach to self-awareness and personal development and significant exposure to the world of work and its current demands through work experience opportunities.
Through the learning experiences offered, and the skills and competencies gained, students will understand effective managerial behaviour developed in today’s complex organizations and turbulent business environments. The emphasis in the course design has been to provide this strong business degree with a focus on employability. In turn, the degree seeks to inculcate in students many of the skills and competencies in research, presentation, critical analysis, problem-solving, team building and entrepreneurship, which all together should be helpful for future employment opportunities.
After graduating, students will have a variety of career options open to them within business and in particular working with commercial transactions and business development areas. Students may also consider furthering their studies with one of the following postgraduate options: Masters of Business Administration (MBA), MSc in Strategic Business Management or Chartered Management Institute’s postgraduate qualifications.
- 32 UCAS points from the equivalent of one A Level or 40 UCAS points from the equivalent of two A Levels. 5 GCSE’s at A-C (9-4) including English, and Grade D/4 or above in Maths or equivalent qualifications.
- International Students: An English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or above with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
