Experiential Learning/Internships
During your undergraduate studies, you’ll have a number of hands-on opportunities to gain real-world experience.
Case Competitions
Case competitions are one of our most popular opportunities for sport and recreation management and other business majors. A case competition starts with a fictitious or real “problem.” Students then work individually or in teams to identify possible solutions and present them to a panel of judges. Each competition provides incentives for both the winners and participants, in addition to earning an ExEL unit credit.
Internships
In addition to case competitions, sport and recreation management majors enjoy exclusive internships with sports teams like the Florida Panthers, Miami Marlins, Miami Dolphins, as well as the Miguel Angel Jimenez Golf Academy, Orange Bowl Committee, Soccer Shots, and more. You’ll also have access to our Corporate Speaker Series, Career in Sports Series, workshops, and employer networking events, which bring you face-to-face with leading organizations and Fortune 500 executives.
Career Opportunities
Become a Successful Member of Any Sport Organization
There are a number of opportunities available in sports-specific industries, including everything from managing a sports team to promotions, merchandising, and event production. With a B.S.B.A. in Sport and Recreation Management, you’ll study general business concepts in addition to sport and recreation management-focused topics, so that you qualify for a wider variety of jobs upon graduation. You’ll also gain internship experience and have networking opportunities, which give you a competitive advantage in this industry.
