Curriculum
Classical Music
The four-year Bachelor's programme consists of a core curriculum, a choice of specialisation beyond the core curriculum (major) and a free elective (minor). In the first two years, the core curriculum (70% of your study) comprises a mixture of music theory, the basic repertoire, auditory/solfège, music history and classes related to your main degree subjects, such as chamber music and orchestral training. These classes are provided by (guest) lecturers from the Netherlands and abroad.
Jazz
The four-year Bachelor's degree program consists of three components: a core curriculum, a choice of specialization beyond the core curriculum (major) and a free elective (minor). In the first two years, all students take the same core curriculum, irrespective of their main degree subjects. The core curriculum comprises performance, arrangement and composition assignments, band lessons, core degree subject modules, practical auditory and theory classes, basic repertoire and several specific classes related to the main degree subject. Students will additionally attend a comprehensive orientation programme to help them select their Specialisation (jazz or pop music).
