Experiential learning Bringing fundamental global business concepts to life through real-world practice is the cornerstone of all our programs. We believe people learn better by doing, so we have developed academic curriculums that reflect our commitment to this belief. Our techniques include real-world consultation projects, live simulations with actors, understanding risk management with professional poker players, practicing group decision-making by competing against other teams of students in real-world scenarios, and developing teamwork and leadership skills through challenging outdoor activities, such as open-water sailing. Trusted by global companies Our programs are based on exploring, understanding, and solving the issues faced each and every day by the world’s leading international companies. Many of the world’s most respected international companies, organizations, and NGOs turn to Hult’s Ashridge Executive Education for help solving complex business challenges and to better understand how best to develop their key management talent. Global faculty Hult’s internationally renowned faculty pride themselves first and foremost on their passion for teaching. Many have achieved significant success in the real world, meaning that what and how they teach is greatly influenced by their experience as corporate executives, business owners, inventors, and entrepreneurs. Our professors come from over 45 different countries and have collectively taught on every continent – the subjects they teach are greatly enhanced by their internationalism. Global research Our research is focused on the issues that are uppermost in global business leaders’ minds – the trends that are shaping the future business environment and how companies will need to react. These include long-term research into leadership, sustainability, emerging markets, and technological disruption. The thinking that arises from our research is quickly translated into the practices that underpin all our programs – helping individuals perform at the highest level. Global students & alumni Many business schools claim to be global, but our classrooms actually prove it. Our campuses are home to an extraordinary diversity of cultures, ideas, and backgrounds — Hult students represent over 120 nationalities and speak more than 100 languages. Diverse perspectives Classroom diversity and cross-cultural collaboration is an essential part of the Hult experience. In fact, many of our students say they learned as much from their fellow classmates as they did from their professors. Together, you will not only share your experiences, but you will teach each other that everyone sees the world from different angles. You will learn to diplomatically navigate diverse perspectives, understand the cultural dynamics affecting global business, and how to solve problems collaboratively. We are extremely proud that the seeds of what has become the world’s largest student entrepreneurship competition were planted at our school. Turning ideas into action Founded by a Hult alumnus, funded by the Hult family, and run in partnership with former U.S. President Bill Clinton, student teams from all over the world compete to win a USD1 million investment in their startups. The specific challenge varies from year to year, but they all focus on improving the lives of some of the world’s poorest people. In 2015, the student teams devised ingenious solutions to build sustainable and scalable social enterprises to address early childhood education in urban slums. Over 20,000 applications were received, six teams made it through to the global finals in New York, and we are proud to announce that five of those teams, including the winners, received external investment to help take their ideas to the next level..

Qualifications Honours Degrees These qualifications, ie BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons), are designed to give in-depth knowledge and understanding of a particular subject: developing abilities and problem-solving skills as well as practical learning. Foundation Degrees As an alternative to traditional academic degrees, Foundation degrees are designed and delivered in partnership with employers to mix academic study with workplace learning. They equip people with the relevant knowledge, understanding and skills to improve their performance and productivity. If you're already in full-time employment Foundation degrees give the opportunity to continue your professional development in your chosen career while continuing to work. You don't necessarily need traditional academic qualifications to gain entry. Successful students often progress to a one-year top-up Honours Degree. HNCs/HNDs Higher National Certificates/Diplomas (HNCs/HNDs) are designed specifically to provide a skills/career based qualification. These vocational qualifications also provide a route onto our Honours degree programmes. Extended Degrees This degree programme includes a year of study that ensures students have underpinning knowledge and skills before they progress onto more specialist studies in the later years of the course. It's an ideal entry route for students with few, or no, formal qualifications who are returning to education with some relevant work experience. It is also a good option for students who do not have the required subjects/grades at A Level (or equivalent) to be able to progress onto a Degree or Foundation Degree programme. School leavers who have passed at Level 3 but in a different subject to the one they want to pursue at University would also be suitable for these courses. Certificate in Higher Education (CertHE) The Certificate in Higher Education (CertHE) is a university level award in its own right. At LSBU the CertHE can be gained after successfully completing one year of a full-time course in a range of selected subjects. The CertHE is worth 120 credit points and is an internationally recognised university qualification. Having a CertHE can exempt the holder from some of the requirements of a Bachelor's degree, for example it might reduce the length of study necessary to complete the qualification.

That is, equipping leaders to navigate conflicting priorities, deal with uncertainty and make ethical choices – to the benefit of individuals, enterprises and communities. Key Facts Degrees, Postgraduate, MBA and CPD management courses. 2190 Undergraduate students, 690 Taught Postgraduate students, 100 Research Postgraduates. Online programmes in partnership with Laureate Online Education. 134 academic staff. Public and private sector focus with numerous clients / partners. International outlook and opportunities, including links with Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in China. Mission Statement Learning to make a difference The theme of our mission is “Learning to Make a Difference”: we strive to make a difference in the lives of individuals, enterprise and communities. This is the purpose of our research and teaching. For our students we strive to build excellence in our teaching and create an overall learning environment to equip our students with the knowledge, skills and aptitudes to make a contribution to the major challenges of today and unknown challenges for the future whether as citizens, organisational practitioners or managers. We expect our students work or will work in every continent in the world. Therefore, we test this mission not only in Liverpool but with our partner institution in China (XJTLU) and our online programmes where we make quality education available to working professionals who want a more flexible approach to learning how to solve problems across cultures and international timelines. For our academic faculty we expect that our teaching will be informed by research and our research not only is recognised as being internationally excellent or world class but makes a real difference to business leaders and policy makers. This is also one way we ensure that what we teach our students is going to be relevant to them as they progress their degrees. Our research needs to have impact on society. We are also part of a larger community of scholars working in areas to meet critical global challenges. We see our role as being a bridge between the world of ideas and the marketplace. For recruiters we provide graduates of outstanding potential as organisational practitioners and managers able to operate in the contemporary environments and circumstances of global business. For the larger community we are proud to be part of a developing region with a rich industrial history. But we also recognise that this is a community that faces enormous economic challenges and we believe that we can contribute to that development. We learn to make a difference by leveraging our knowledge to make the Liverpool region a better place. Our starting point is that all activities in the School are founded on internationally excellent or world class scholarship. Therefore, we endeavour to make a major contribution to learning in all the major disciplines of management. What makes our scholarship distinctive is our belief that many of the major problems in management cannot be solved in isolated silos. We aim to build flexible and interdisciplinary groups - “Knowledge Platforms”. But the connection with business leaders and policy makers is also fundamental to how we teach. This has influenced over the last few years how we teach our MBA students using visiting speakers and practical placements, the design of our MSc degrees using placements and introduction of 4 year (with a year in industry) undergraduate degrees. In summary: We desire that our students become more than good managers and great leaders. They must be able to make a significant contribution in their roles and in the long-term play a part in solving some of the most endemic problems individuals, companies and communities face. Our academic members of faculty need to publish in leading scholarly journals. However, this is not enough. Insights from our academic research must become available to executives and policy makers and make a real difference to helping them grasp opportunities and solve the problems they face. Our knowledge exchange activities like our teaching in degree programmes must help participants and companies make a significant contribution. These must further reinforce and extend scholarly research. Executive Education programmes The University of Liverpool Management School recognises the value of Executive Education to you and your company. We offer learning that is designed around solving organisational challenges. Using blended learning solutions we can integrate your educational needs into your busy lifestyles whilst leveraging your career to the next level. Based at our London campus Our Campus in the heart of the City of London provides our participants with a platform to engage with employers, professional institutes and our partners, allowing them to take full advantage of the networking opportunities. Welcome We welcome international students for the diversity and energy they bring to our community. They help us to keep a very global outlook and perspective at a time when cultures are becoming increasingly and more instantly connected. We also know that we can look after you well and give you a very good experience. Key benefits for international students… [+] are: The right size for students to be well known to staff with high levels of support Friendly, informal atmosphere where everyone is completely focussed on developing and supporting the creative talents of students One of the remaining colleges dedicated to the arts in the UK Lots of teaching and support with tutors, many are practising artists and designers Great access to a range of workshops no matter what course you are on Located in a vibrant and student-friendly city, surrounded by some of the most breathtaking countryside in the UK Great value student housing A very safe place for students to live and work Why Choose Us? Roshnee Valla, from Zimbabwe - BA (Hons) Graphic & Media Design Top-up I was looking to join the final year of a degree course and convert my existing qualification into a full BA (Hons); I found this course on the UCAS website along with a few others. I decided to study at HCA because out of all the other unis and colleges this was the most friendly and supportive. I had a few problems getting my visa sorted but the College could not have been more helpful and they were quick to get back to me. I was able to have my interview and discuss my work via Skype with the Course Leader. One other good thing, the course started in October which meant that the airfares were cheaper! When I arrived at the College I really felt included and was impressed with the studios, teaching staff and facilities, which are all excellent. My advice to other international students: Enquire early, as the visa application process can be lengthy and ask loads of questions! Gabe Chaille, from Illinois, USA - BA (Hons) Artist Blacksmithing I’ve been fascinated by blacksmithing since I was quite small and heard about the Artist Blacksmithing course at Hereford as a result of talking to Californian-based British Blacksmith, Mark Aspery during a blacksmithing demonstration at SIU Carbondale. The idea of combining forged metalwork practice within an art school environment at degree level got me interested in finding out more, particularity as I was studying art & design at the time in Illinois. I contacted the College the year before and checked that my qualifications and experience was enough to be considered for the course. Now I’m in the 2nd year and really loving the experience. My advice to other international students: Don’t assume you know what you are doing when you apply for your Visa! The College are very helpful but you really need to do your research first of all. Mizuki Takahashi, from Hitachi, Japan - BA (Hons) Jewellery Design I originally trained in Graphic Design in Japan and found myself wanting to work differently. I had the opportunity to come over to the UK with my English boyfriend who used to be a student at HCA. I found myself looking at quite a few different institutions, mostly in London and larger cities, but I kept coming back to HCA’s prospectus. I liked the workshop philosophy – you can go into any workshop at any time which is so important. It has really influenced how I work as a jeweller. When I arrived everyone was so friendly and supportive, the tutors and other students really helped me with my communication skills until I became more confident. My advice to other international students: Don’t be afraid to ask questions, there is always someone around to help. Be openminded and don’t build a wall around yourself – you will get so much more out of this place! Also choosing a small city like Hereford means that your money goes a lot further. Location The location of Hereford is a fantastic source of inspiration for study; the city, night-life, the countryside, the river Wye, sports and people all offer the perfect destination in which to study - and it is a very safe place to live. The county of Herefordshire is located in the Midlands region and has great access to good rail, road and bus links to the major cities in the UK including: (By train) London, Paddington Railway Station ( 3 hours 15 minutes) Birmingham (1 hour 30 minutes) Manchester (2 hours 15 minutes) Bristol (1 hour 45 minutes) Heathrow Airport, London (3 hours 30 minutes) Gatwick Airport, London (3 hours 50 minutes) Manchester Airport (2 hours 40 minutes) Birmingham Airport (1 hour 50 minutes) College Road Campus Our College Road Campus is about 1 kilometre from the city centre, rail and bus stations. It is a large, historic building that is ‘home’ to all our degree level students. It has recently been refurbished to provide stunning large open studio and seminar spaces, great social spaces, a library, photographic studios complete with a lending store full of photographic and media equipment, dark rooms, digital Mac and PC suites, and a large format digital printing suite. A separate building on the campus houses our superb new workshops including 3D, Textiles, and Printmaking facilities. Students can also access additional facilities including specialist Jewellery and Ceramics workshops at our Folly Lane Campus, only a few minutes walk away. There is a range of very good student housing nearby including Halls of Residence just across the road. Folly Lane Campus Our Folly Lane Campus is the base for our College level courses (16-19 years) including our Foundation Diploma in Art & Design. It has a new exhibition and social space. ‘The Arts Space’ is a highly contemporary and innovative space, with landscaped gardens and outdoor areas. It has already hosted a number of exhibitions and events as well as being enjoyed on a day-to-day basis by students and staff. The design and architecture of this striking building has generated great interest and has been short-listed for and awarded a number of architectural prizes and featured in a cross section of architectural journals and magazines from the UK and abroad. The two campuses are within walking distance of each other. Teaching & Support Staff Our staff are a highly creative community.
