Malaysia, one of the few in the world, is racing ahead to become an industrialised nation. Undoubtedly, the built environment and property development industries are instrumental as the driving forces to contribute towards realising this aspiration. What our country needs is a workforce that is well prepared in the contemporary construction and property environment and graduates who are well experienced and exposed to contribute effectively.

The courses undertaking today have gone through extensive explorations to determine its relevancy to the industry’s needs. The exposure received from partner universities and invited speakers as well as the Study Tour aboard Program will transform students into a global students competent to be on par with international counterparts.

Apart from these, we are proud of the efforts we have in place to prepare you to be a career-ready graduate from the onset. The Work-Based Learning which you have been hearing about, ARIEL (Academic, Reinforced, Industry, Exposure and Learning), VALUE (Value Added Life Useful and Education) and SCOPE (Short Course for Professional Enhancement) are also implemented at IMPERIA. Committees were formed and empowered to create and organise engaging sessions that would mould and develop Built Environment Professionals at IMPERIA. Their activities will focus on providing exposure of the real working world and developing your skills to meet their expectations.

At IMPERIA, students will go through a balanced life and are not only limited to activities within the classroom only. Extra or co-curricular activities complement the curricular activities of the college experience. Students Representative Committee (SRC) provided other outdoor activities for students. SRC promote co-curricular opportunities and encourage students participation in all aspects of campus life. The curricular and extracurricular activities function together to provide the total experience for the students. It is important that a healthy balance exists in a student’s educational life. We also seek to instil social responsibility through these activities and encourage beneficial and purposeful community service.

Corporate Profile

IMPERIA was founded in 1995 by a group of professional estate agents to offer training and human resource development courses to the general public. It was also approved by the Selangor State Education Department for Certificate Courses under the name of “Centre for Continuing Development and Further Education” in October 1996.

On 20th April 1998, it was further approved by the Department of Private Education, Ministery of Higher Education for Diploma Courses under the name of “Institute for Continuing Development and Further Education” (ICDFE).

Academic collaborations and links with academic education institutions for twinning, franchise and credit transfer programmes have also been established.

During the initial years, ICDFE operated from a double-storey shop office in Petaling Jaya Old Town. ICDFE took its first batch of 31 students in January 1997,to enrol for the Diploma in Estate Agency,a two-year programme examined and awarded by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and the Estate Agents, Malaysia. ICDFE was also involved in areas of human resource training and development, courses such as competency-based training and seminars.

Overview Graduates of this professional surveying programme are eligible for registration as Probationary Valuer/Estate Agent with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia (BOVAEA). This is because it is the only private franchised 3+0 degree (from Liverpool John mores University ,UK) which has been provisionally accredited by BOVAEA. BSc (Hons) Real Estate Management & Development is a professional surveying programme that prepares and develops the students for future professional practice in real estate management industry. The programme provides in-depth knowledge of the principles and practices involved in property valuation, property management, estate agency, land use planning and property development up to Bachelor’s degree level. Furthermore, students are trained to develop the knowledge and skills to value, plan, develop, manage, acquire & dispose real estate for property owners and investors.
