INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY

Vilnius Business College started its international activity in 1994 and since then has been actively involved in the European LLP projects under Erasmus+, Socrates, Nord Plus, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig, E-learning, as well as international science and research activities. The College has developed an extensive network of foreign partners to promote the college in the international educational context and support students’ mobility.

English and International Communication study programme has been designed and developed to train high professional standards specialists able to perform on the interface of different professional fields. Specialists of that sort are in great demand in the fast-changing local and international job market [+]

Objectives of a study programme: The aim of English and International Communication study programme is to prepare highly qualified multilingual specialists in international communication, able to act effectively and professionally and provide foreign language services in vaious spheres of communication, information resourse design, translation and information dissemination for target groups in the local and global business environment. Learning outcomes: Graduates of EIC study programme will have strong competences and skills in language, multicultural communication and translation; will know business processes and their management, project management, business communication and in their professional activity will be able: - to communicate efficiently in General and Business English (C1 level according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment); - to communicate in second foreign language (A2 level according to CEFR); - to create and edit texts and translate company’s promotional and other relevant information, translate and conduct business correspondence and prepare company’s documentation; - to establish and maintain business relationships with international partners, to represent a company in various events, trade fairs and exhibitions; to act as an intermediary in meetings with international partners. Activities of teaching and learning: Vilnius Business College creates a distinctive learning and teaching environment and implements innovative teaching methods.The recently-implemented Project-based teaching method aims to develop students’ skills such as leadership, entrepreneurship, team-work, time planning and finance management, etc. A great deal of learning activities will be organized using College virtual learning environment, new ICT technologies, and social media. Students will have lectures and seminars in psychology, team-work, effective work and study methods as well as time planning conducted by professional lecturers and experienced practitioners. Students will get acquainted with the study process, College values, opportunities for international studies and internships. Study programme content and study methods are in alignment with the corresponding level of international exams requirements for non-English speakers: General English – with Cambridge English: Advanced (C1 level according to CEFR) and Business English – with Cambridge Business English Certificate (BEC), City & Guilds English for Business Communication and London Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Qualifications in English for Business. During the study period students will be able to prepare for and pass these exams. Access to professional activity: The first Internship in Business Communication will be conducted at the College. The second year Internship takes place in a company, practical assignments will be aligned with the student, the company and the College. The aim of the third year Final Internship is to strengthen and develop students’ professional skills in a particular business situation.
