Welcome to ISLB

ISLB offers contemporary undergraduate degree programmes which allow students to develop knowledge, abilities and attitudes required in the global labour market and essential to cope in the wider world in the future. The educational process is tailored towards practice-oriented studies and professional training which comprise collaborative and experiential teaching and learning methods as a reflection of the student-centred approach. The curriculum comprises two industry-based internships that give students hand-on experience in real workplaces. ISLB‘s strong industry links help to ensure contemporary and relevant studies and graduate employment.

The Faculty of Management has over 2000 students with a growing share of international students from 12 different countries of the world. For international students ISLB offers four degree programmes in English, including International Business Law, Tourism and Hotel Management, Business Management and Marketing with a variety of different business oriented specializations. The faculty comprise recognized academics and practitioners who guarantee the development of strong theoretical foundations and comprehensive practical skills.

ISLB offers two modes of studies: full-time studies (3 years) and part-time studies (4 years). E-learning opportunities are offered to meet individual student needs. Students can choose the most convenient way of studying at ISLB.

Welcome to Lithuania

Lithuania is a country in Central Europe, one of the three Baltic states, situated at the crossroad between East and West.

Since 2004 Lithuania has become a member of EU and NATO, and a part of the Schengen area since 2007.

Population. The population of the Republic of Lithuania is 3,35 million.

Language. The Lithuanian language is the official state language and is recognized as one of the official languages of the European Union. Lithuanian language is one of the two living Baltic languages, along with Latvian. Lithuanian, out of akk Indo-European languages, has best retained the ancient sound system and numerous morphological peculiarities. In this respect, it is very similar to Sanskrit, Ancient Greek and Latin. Studies in the field of comparative linguistics have shown it to be the most archaic livin Indo-European language.

Currency. Litas (Lt) has been the national currency unit since June 25, 1993. 1 Litas (Lt) is equal to 100 cents. Litas is pegged to Euro at the rate of 3,4528.

Cosmetology is a new joint study programme, conducted in English, jointly with the Academy of Cosmetics and Health Care in Warsaw (in Polish Wyższa Szkoła Zawodowa Kosmetyki i Pielęgnacji Zdrowia w Warszawie, hereinafter – WSZKiPZ). This Polish Academy has accumulated a lot of experience in training highly skilled specialists in beauty therapy; it has a particularly highly qualified academic staff and runs productive scientific activities. A cosmetologist’s activities cover not just a beauty “management.” A cosmetologist is also an artist in his/her profession, who offers a variety of creative solutions to a client. It takes more than a talent for a beauty expert to attract a success. Cosmetologists must have knowledge in various business areas, including communication, human relations, and marketing support. All of that is achieved only when the beauty industry is led by qualified and competent professionals. Such professionals are prepared in the Cosmetology Joint Study Programme. The future beauty therapists will develop tools and techniques to maintain a healthy facial and body skin, to eliminate skin and body defects, to highlight attractive features of the face, to shape the desired image, by employing the latest technologies in cosmetic procedures. Study modules In the International School of Law and Business: Chemistry, Biophysics, Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Public Health, Microbiology, Immunology and Allergology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, General Medicine and Pathophysiology, Basics of Management, Services Marketing, Medical Tourism, Natural Cosmetics, Nutritional Biology, etc. In the Academy of Cosmetics and Health Care in Warsaw: Theory and Practice in Cosmetology, Cosmetics and Cosmetic Ingredients, Dermatology, Perfume, Skin and Hair Physiology, Cosmeticology, Makeup and Aesthetics, Basics of Aesthetic Medicine, Professional Foreign Language, Hair Care, Cosmetic Forms, etc. Internship Internship in real companies You will implement practical trainings and final internships of 20 weeks in duration in Lithuanian and Polish beauty studios, aesthetic cosmetology clinics, beauty salons, spas, beauty parlours, film and photo studios, beauty shops, and other businesses in cosmetology area, cosmetic manufacturing companies, and so on. The School cooperates with Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, Association of Lithuanian Trade Enterprises, Quality Management Association, National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries, Lithuanian Association of Communication Agencies KOMAA, which help ISLB students in finding a place for the internship and, later, often become a workplace for students of ISLB. International diplomas Competences A graduate of the programme will be awarded a joint beauty therapist professional bachelor’s degree, which meets the level VI qualification under the Lithuanian Qualifications Framework and level 6 under the European Qualifications Framework. Goal of the Cosmetology Joint Study Programme – to prepare a highly qualified creative and socially responsible beauty therapist who is able to professionally and independently provide different types of cosmetological services, apply the latest modern cosmetological tools, equipment and materials, capable of organizing a business in cosmetology area, widely, creatively, and critically thinking, constantly seeking personal and professional growth through lifelong learning. Career Upon completion of the Cosmetology Joint Study Programme, graduates will have sufficient skills to work in beauty studios, aesthetic cosmetology clinics, beauty salons, spas, beauty parlours, beauty shops, and other organizations in the beauty industry, film and photo studios. After having assessed opportunities for development of a family medical institution in Lithuania, therapeutic cosmetology salons could be established in primary health care centres. Graduates will be able to found their own therapeutic cosmetology salons, engage in health tourism, and contribute to the enhancement of Lithuanian services exports. Graduates of the Joint Programme will also have the opportunity to continue their studies in the medicine and health study fields of Master’s degree. A second cycle study programme – Cosmetology – is conducted in WSZKiPZ. These positions will exist in almost all industries, from finances, to banking, to manufacturing, and more. Because of this, individuals with a business law degree will have many options since they are not limited to any one industry. It is also possible to work for legal companies or law practices. Working in this capacity would allow individuals to work on a wider range of cases, perhaps in a consulting capacity as well. Marketing and Media Art is a new joint study programme conducted in English, together with the International University College of Bulgaria (hereinafter – IUC). The purpose of the joint study programme in Marketing and Media Art (hereinafter – joint programme, study programme) is to train creative and innovative specialists that meet the requirements of the dynamic and global labour market and create communication industry and marketing professionals who are able to practically realize their own art, media and business projects, or projects that were prepared by others, by working both individually and in a team. In the newly equipped audiovisual studio, a group of students will be able to create media products by performing a full range of functions at the same time, by sharing functions with each other and applying their knowledge provided by lecturers during theoretical lectures. The audiovisual studio can be used at the same time by: 3 video operators, video installer at the controls, sound operator, lighting designer, video director, screenwriter, studio artist and 2-3 make-up artists. This is only one group of the project. The technical basis of the creative workshop will allow to carry out projects in at least 4 directions – TV production filming, promotional production filming, production of photo and audio products. Competencies You will have knowledge in media communications and aesthetic forms, and will be able to analyze and evaluate them You will gain an understanding of enterprises, market economics, marketing knowledge and professional ethics You will improve the use of foreign languages ​​in professional activities You will be able to perform a research and apply its results You will be able to create, manage – plan, organize and carry out project activities in communications and creative industries You will be able to properly apply technique, technology and safety standards in the media industry You will be able to develop and present the concept of media projects individually or in a team, and design its communication objects and also gain other necessary professional competencies.
