Introduction

Our History

C. D. A. College has a long tradition in Tertiary education going back to 1976. In those early years it was the first institution that offered the first students in the Travel and Tourism Industry.

In 1978 the College was restructured and concentrated its energies into developing, some other courses most essential to the Cyprus economy reconstruction needs, and the social structures in the aftermath of the Turkish invasion of 1974. All these years our College offered hundreds of graduates to the Business and Travel Industry with success.

In 1978 the College established new branches in Limassol and Larnaca.

The College was founded and it is owned by C.D.A. Coaching Centre Ltd. The Council of Accreditation has already accredited most of the College programs of study: MBA Business Administration, B.A Business Administration, BA Travel and Tourism Management, Travel and Tourism Administration, Office Administration, Secretarial Studies and Executive Secretarial Studies, Information & Communication Technology, Interior Design and Beauty Therapy.

C. D. A. College is dedicated to the provision of high quality, cost effective education and training, in the areas of Business Studies, Travel and Tourism Industry, Information & Communication Technology, Secretarial Studies, Beauty Therapy and Interior Design.

Our Mission

The mission and goals of the College derive from the following statements

Access C.D.A. College offers undergraduate programs addressing issues of particular importance to people. Our curricula, the way we teach and our financial and academic support services address the needs of students who come to the College from varied social, cultural and ethnic background, and who may have a variety of previous educational experiences.

Excellence C.D.A. College addresses the intellectual and professional needs of individual students though classes and other educational experiences that encourage dialogue with faculty who are active scholars and/or practitioners. Students benefit from rigorous, specially tailored approaches to fostering gains in abilities and understanding.

Quality of Life C.D.A. College supports cultural diversity by helping ethnic and international communities to articulate and celebrate their cultural values and identities, and by recognizing the contributions and achievements of members of these communities. By the nature of our enterprise and through our normal activity, we contribute to the rich and diverse cultural life of major Cypriot cities.

Objectives

Through its broad range of programs, the College provides students from Cyprus and around the world with the depth of understanding and intellectual flexibility they need to respond to the challenges they will face in the years to come.

The College aims to strengthen its contribution to the national provision of higher education. It intends to build upon links with industry and to meet the need for specific higher education for the local and international community. C. D. A. intends to remain a College, which is responsive to changing environmental, vocational and technological factors. Its management will spare no effort to sustain and develop in the future, a climate receptive to this attainment.

The total activity of the College will be directed towards providing a stimulating learning environment for students. The staff will be encouraged to explore new ideas in teaching, learning and to pursue educational initiatives compatible with the College ethos and stated principles.

The program seeks to prepare students with a broad-based financial and business education which will provide a good starting point for the students' later professional work and studies. [+]

BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance (4 Years, Plus an Optional Foundation Year, Bachelor of Arts) Teaching Language: English Description: Students enrolled in this 4-Years plus an Optional Foundation Year, program earn a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance. The program seeks to prepare students with a broad-based financial and business education which will provide a good starting point for the students' later professional work and studies. In addition, students will receive the essential Accountants / Financial and Business knowledge & skills necessary to face the business challenges in their future professional career. This program consists of forty (40) courses and it requires a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and pass mark is 50%. Promotion - Graduation The assessment of the course will be consisted of two parts. The assessment which will represent the continuous evaluation of a student’s progress (course work) weighs 50% of the total grading and the assessment of the final written examination at the end of the academic semester weighs 50%. The passing mark is 50% of the total grading. The student requires a minimum of 120 credits or 240 ECTS to graduate. The aims and objectives of the program are: To provide students with the theoretical, technical and empirical background necessary for financial problem solving and financial decision making within the complex and changing business environment. This programme has been designed for students intending to pursue a career in accounting, or in any other area where financial accounting information and decisions are a central element. To acquire a broad-based education which will provide a good starting point for the students’ later professional work and studies. In addition, students will receive the necessary Accountants / Financial and business knowledge & skills necessary to face the business challenges in their future professional career. To provide students with the skills which employers in the field are looking for: detailed knowledge of financial accounting, financial reporting, auditing, taxation, cost and management accounting, financial statement analysis which, together with information technology skills, give you the confidence to use a wide range of accounting and business software. International developments in accounting are also emphasized. To develop the student’s analytical, decision-making and communication competencies together with those qualities of self reliance, responsibility, integrity and self-awareness which will promote personal achievement and contribution to organizations.
