Accredited by the Romanian Ministry of Education, the bachelor entitled “Structural Engineering” are 4 years undergraduate programs, with teaching and examinations entirely in English language or in French language. Organised within the Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages (FILS) of the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest (UTCB) since the early 90s , the bachelors contain 8 semesters with an associated total number of 240 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). The bachelors are opened to Romanian and foreign bachelor graduates. They also accommodates Erasmus+ exchange students. UTCB has 67 Erasmus+ agreements with universities from 17 countries. For the academic year 2016-2017 over 20 Erasmus students from France, Spain and Greece already registered to follow lectures in our faculty (bachelor or master). The same bachelor program is provided at FILS with teaching and examinations in English or in French language. Admission EU citizens Admission is based on the highschool results, in descending order up to the number of places available. EU candidates can study for free in the limit of the available places for Romanian and citizens from EU, European Economic Space (EES) or Swiss Confederation (for example 60 places in the academic year 2016-2017 for both the bachelors with teaching in english and in french), or with an annual study fee of 4500 lei (~1000 Euro). The numbers of places can be increased depending on the number of candidates, through internal arrangements within the university. Language proficiency: The candidates who have a recognised language proficiency certificate (CAE, CPE, TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, AQA, DELF, DALF, TCF, TEF, TFI, Diplome de l’Alliance Française, bilingual class certificate), candidates from Anglophone or Francophone countries or candidates whom studied highschool in English or in French are exempted from the proficiency test. Higher education in the field of Civil Engineering was born in Romania in 1864 by the establishment in Bucharest of the School of Bridges and Roads, Mines and Architecture. The Bucharest Constructions Technical University (UTCB) is currently the only university in Romania having as general specialty only civil engineering. The Faculty of Engineering Installations (FII) was born in 1949.
