Objectives The study program aims at providing the students with a technical and humanistic background so as to be able to contribute to the development and modernisation in public administration both at national and European level. This study program includes a wide range of areas such as Law, Accountancy, Economics, Human Resources, Mathematics, Information and Communication, Languages and Administration. Professional Goals These are times of change and current diversity of professional profiles and training pathways is a clear signal of the information society in which we are living. The wide variety of services, the growing demand for information and responses requires greater specialisation of service providers. This course was designed to train professionals who provide better public services through multichannel and back-office strategies, electronic purchases and interoperable technologies and systems in public administration. Qualification Requirements 180 ECTS credits distributed across 6 curricular semesters (3 years), each with 40 weeks of full-time study (20 weeks per semester). Total study hours per year: 1620 (1 ECTS credit = 27 study hours). Course structure includes 6 modules per semester, most of them compulsory, and in all three curricular years students can choose optional modules from other ESGT programs as according to a pre-established plan. In addition, there is a Research Seminar worth 15 ECTS credits which can be attended in any public or private institution with which the Polytechnic has formal links. These qualification criteria are based on the provisions set out in Decree-law No.74/2006, dated 24 March. Graduation requirements Completion of the program requires successful completion of all its modules including public defence of the research project so as to accumulate 180 ECTS, of which 155 are compulsory and 25 are selected among optional modules available in the course curriculum, and complying with general and specific assessment regulations. Learning outcomes Holders of a Bachelor's degree (licenciado) in Public Administration should: be familiar with the terminology and have good scientific foundations in public administration; be able to articulate the several program modules within the higher education context. be familiar with, conceptualise and apply the techniques and instruments for creation, development and evaluation within the professional and academic contexts and its application in public administration; be able to apply theoretical knowledge and skills acquired in professional activities related with their academic background.
