The Major in Voice and Opera / Lyric Opera Concentration is a program that integrates the highest standards in voice training and musical coaching with comprehensive and challenging dramatic preparation. Students will work together with renowned teachers and artists active in Florence. We are committed to the traditions of classically-based vocal training while at the same time creating an environment that allows a student to explore the wide-range of music theatre and lyric repertoire that is expected of today's professional singers. In addition to work in classrooms and studios, the program offers performance opportunities in fully-staged productions under the guidance of professional directors, choreographers, conductors, musical directors, and designers. During your study you are required to perform in a minimum of three productions. You must perform at least one major (leading) roles in opera performance. Undergraduate applicants do not go through a traditional audition process. We ask that you submit recorded materials that will be reviewed by the faculty. Once that review has been completed we will contact those candidates from whom we require further information. For detailed information on how to submit your recorded materials please send an email to the helpdesk.
