Tamil Nadu is an Indian state served by the capital city of Chennai. It is ranked as the seventh most populous state and eleventh by size. It is also ranked as one of the most literate states with 37 universities within its borders alongside more than 1,000 other institutions of higher education.

Found in the Southern part of Asia, the Republic of India is second most populated country in the world with approximately 1.27 billion people. India has four types of universities; Central Universities, State Universities, Deemed University and Private Universities consisting in over 550+ institutions.

A bachelor's degree is given to students who fulfill the necessary requirements given by the college or university they are attending. The requirements include three to seven years of focus on a subject, typically referred to as a major or concentration.
