This programme provides students with a flexible and multi-purpose grounding in economic, mathematical-statistical, business and legal issues, equipping them with the ability to analyse and interpret economic phenomena on differing levels (macroeconomic, market, corporate ones). Students can also concentrate on the economics of tourism, which plays a particularly relevant role in the Veneto region. The Economics, Markets and Finance Curriculum is fully taught in English. Access to the programme Admission is limited to 420 places. Entry test For the Economics, Markets and Finance curriculum:, the entry test will assess the knowledge of both mathematics and English. Furthermore, a certified knowledge of English language at least at a B2 level is required. Admission requirements In addition to a successful outcome of the admission test, a previous suitable background is required.If the results of the test are negative, the student can enroll, but they will receives a supplementary educational debt (OFA), which means that the student must fill any gaps in their background through specific activities organized by the University. This course has been designed by Ca’ Foscari University as a cutting edge program of study entirely taught in English. Its interdisciplinarity brings together the teaching of philosophy, economics and international studies in the unique context of Italian academic environment, and is intended to align itself with similar courses at European level. The program is patterned after the Philosophy, Politics, Economics (P.P.E.) degree taught at Oxford. For the academic year 2016/2017 Ca' Foscari offers a curriculum entirely taught in English (Economics and Management) in the Bachelor's Degree Programme Business Administration and Management: L–18 (Business Administration). The Programme involves 3 years of study and provides students with knowledge of general scientific methods and contents, as well as with the opportunity to acquire the necessary professional skills. A Bachelor's Degree is awarded once students have completed all the educational activities required by the study plan, and acquired 180 university credits (ECTS). The Programme provides students with an international education and combines management and economics (theory, methods and models) with legal, mathematical and statistical subjects. Students may take part in the selection for the Atlantis Programme, allowing them to spend an academic year studying at Georgia State University (USA) and be awarded a Double Degree from both Ca' Foscari University of Venice and Georgia State University. Activities and exams The learning environment integrates classroom-based activities , workshops and internships (possibility of being placed abroad) to allow students to acquire wide-ranging skills that are readily transferable into the world of work. Both written and oral examinations will be used to assess skills acquired throughout the course of students' university career. Degree exam The degree exam consists in writing a paper/thesis, that will be evaluated through methods similar to those of a written exam but not in the presence of the student.
