Bachelors in Business Studies in Częstochowa in Poland. CUT offers three-year taught full-time BSc studies in English. If you choose this option you can benefit from a unique educational offer that will help you develop a wide range of useful and transferable skills. All lectures, classes and projects are conducted entirely in English. The main objective of studies in English is to educate future engineers who, while gaining in-depth professional knowledge of their fields of study, will also develop excellent linguistic competence in ESP and Business English. The University collaborates with many EU higher education institutions and students are given the opportunity to study for one semester at any of the selected foreign academic centres (it is so-called mobility semester, i.e. a semester of studying in one of European universities financed by the LLP-Erasmus programme). The studies take place in a two-level system – I degree and II degree studies (Bachelor level and Master level studies). According to the declared specialization of study, prospective students should apply to the Faculty which runs the particular specialization. Faculty of Management In 1989 the then Faculty of Machine Construction, (the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science at present), initiated a new study module of Organization and Industry Management. In the academic year 1989/1990, it educated its first group of freshmen in the specialization of Organization and Management in Machine Industry. On 1 October, 1991 the Department of Organization and Management was set up at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In 1992 it became the Institute of Management and Marketing which included the Divisions of: Economics, Finances and Accountancy, Economics and Enterprise Management. 1994 was the year when the Institute of Management and Marketing was established as an autonomous basic unit. In October 1994, part-time courses were introduced. Finally, in 1997, the Institute was transformed into the Faculty of Management. In 1998, the Faculty was granted the right to confer the title of doctor in the field of management. In order to ensure room for further expansion of the Faculty new building structures were built. The opening of the ultra-modern lecture theatre took place in October 1997. It had seating capacity for 600 and essential multi-media and recreational facilities. In September 2003, Pavilon B was first opened to the public. At present, the Faculty students are offered four fields of study: Management and Marketing (since 1994), Management and Production Engineering (since 1999), Computer Science and Econometrics (since 2002) and Logistics (since 2008). Since 2000 tuition in English and German has been provided in the Enterprise in International Market study module. The Faculty offer includes postgraduate studies in: Accountancy and Taxes in Management of Economic Units and Work Safety Management. In the Extramural Studies Centre in Bedzin, established in 2003, courses in Management and Marketing are conducted by the academic staff of the Faculty and other universities as well. Scientific activities involve basic research and cooperation with economic institutions. Scientific research, owing to its characteristics, is carried out in a wide range of subject areas and dominated by the issue of management in the context of economic transformation and enterprise restructuring associated with the integration of the European Union economies. The Faculty of Management has been intensively collaborating with the following Polish and foreign scientific and research centres: Cracow University of Economics, the Academy of Economics in Katowice, the University of Lodz, the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), the University of Koszyce (Slovakia), the University College Cork (Ireland), Department of Food Economics (Ireland), the Scottish Agricultural College of Aberdeen (Great Britain) and Southern Illinois University- Carbondale (USA). The cooperation with different domestic and foreign institutions creates favourable conditions for the development of scientific research and further integrates various academic centres through student exchange programmes. Adding a European dimension to both scientific research and educational activities is one of the greatest accomplishments of the Faculty. In collaboration with the City Council of Częstochowa, the Faculty offers professional training in West-European enterprises to students. Since 1999, Polish-French seminars have been organized on important economic issues. (e.g. the Future of the enlarged EU). Through such cooperation, students are given the opportunity to learn the principles of the functioning of the economy It also facilitates their new knowledge-acquisition and self-assessment skills, which enhances their chances of career pursuit in the EU countries. Wide-ranging cooperation of the Faculty with economic subjects in the field of scientific research and implementation processes includes: design and implementation of logistic systems, innovation management, information systems, quality systems, information management systems and aided decision systems, consultancy services, knowledge transfer, personnel training and other courses.
