Introduction
Marketing and Media Art is a new joint study programme conducted in English, together with the International University College of Bulgaria (hereinafter – I.U.C.).
The purpose of the joint study programme in Marketing and Media Art (hereinafter – joint programme, study programme) is to train creative and innovative specialists that meet the requirements of the dynamic and global labour market and create communication industry and marketing professionals who are able to practically realize their own art, media and business projects, or projects that were prepared by others, by working both individually and in a team.
In the newly equipped audiovisual studio, a group of students will be able to create media products by performing a full range of functions at the same time, by sharing functions with each other and applying their knowledge provided by lecturers during theoretical lectures.
The audiovisual studio can be used at the same time by: 3 video operators, video installer at the controls, sound operator, lighting designer, video director, screenwriter, studio artist and 2-3 make-up artists. This is only one group of the project. The technical basis of the creative workshop will allow to carry out projects in at least 4 directions – TV production filming, promotional production filming, production of photo and audio products.
Competencies
- You will have knowledge in media communications and aesthetic forms, and will be able to analyze and evaluate them
- You will gain an understanding of enterprises, market economics, marketing knowledge and professional ethics
- You will improve the use of foreign languages in professional activities
- You will be able to perform a research and apply its results
- You will be able to create, manage – plan, organize and carry out project activities in communications and creative industries
- You will be able to properly apply technique, technology and safety standards in the media industry
- You will be able to develop and present the concept of media projects individually or in a team, and design its communication objects and also gain other necessary professional competencies.
Practice
Students will be able to carry out their practical work in marketing and public relation departments of organizations in Lithuania, Bulgaria or any other EU country, as well as in business enterprises and organizations in the fields of media, communication and creative industries.
International diplomas
I.U.C. has experience in the preparation of highly qualified specialists together with the higher education institution in the UK (Cardiff Metropolitan University) , Saint Etienne business school in France (Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Saint-Etienne) and with Stenden University in the Netherlands. Together with these partners, I.U.C. issues double diplomas in the fields of tourism, international business, business information systems, business and management.
Career
By completing the joint study programme in Marketing and Media Art, graduates will be able to work as sales, marketing and public relations specialists, who plan, prepare, coordinate and implement information dissemination programs in order to promote organizations, products and services, as well as represent companies that sell various technical, industrial, medical, pharmaceutical and ITR products and services. Joint programme graduates will be prepared to engage in media arts practice and to initiate and manage creative multimedia projects.
Joint programme graduates can enrol in a master’s degree programme by completing additional studies and meeting the requirements of an appropriate university. Upcoming postgraduate study programmes in Lithuania – Marketing and Business Management in Vilnius University (a master’s degree in marketing is awarded), Marketing and International Commerce in Vytautas Magnus University (a master’s degree in marketing is awarded), Marketing in Klaipeda University (a master’s degree in marketing is awarded).
