Bachelor in International Business and Languages

You have a mind for business, an interest in other cultures and a flair for languages. The International Business and Languages programme teaches you about doing business internationally.

A Dutch company produces cereals for people with food allergies. It wants to break into the Scandinavian market. As the Export Officer, you research the possibilities for introducing the cereals there. An American electronics company wants to conquer the Dutch market. As the Export Manager, you write a marketing plan.

You are adventurous and enterprising. Interested in different cultures. And in economics. You have an international outlook. A business mind. And a gift for languages. You enjoy the challenge of working with others. With people from different countries. In various languages.

The programme International Business and Languages

You will be taught English and two modern foreign languages. French, Spanish or German. You will specialise in (export) marketing and international communication. Sales and account management. International business. You will do a work placement block in the third year. In Europe or further afield. And you will take a minor at a foreign university. The lessons will be in Dutch for the first two years. Then in English from year three onwards.

Features of this study programme

Because the lessons will be in Dutch for the first two years, many German students attend this programme.

English language requirements non-EEA* students

  • Exam: Minimum score
  • IELTS overall band: 7
  • TOEFL computer based: 250
  • TOEFL internet based: 100

*EEA students are students who come from one of the 27 European Union (EU) member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway. Students from Switzerland also fall within this category, despite the fact that Switzerland is not part of the EU.
